“Makeshift”

// December 16th, 2009 // No Comments » // Film/TV, Life, Sound

“Makeshift”, SCAD’s entry this year for the Coca-Cola Refreshing Filmmaker’s Award, wrapped shooting last night. I think we’ve got a winner.

It being a 50 second commercial with no dialogue meant that my job as production sound mixer was pretty relaxed. We went way overboard on equipment, but it’s always fun to try out all the sound toys – this is the first shoot where I’ve had talkback with my boom op, and that’ll be essential from now on.

It moves into post now (I’m hoping to work a little on the sound editing side of things in a few weeks) and we’ll find out the winner in a few months.

Dinosaur-themed family restaurants are kind of my thing. Sure could go for a raptor-rita about now.

This will make you smile. Guy at a festival starts his own dance party.

As a life-long FSU fan (it’s in my blood), this is a hard thing to see happen…glad I got to be there for his last home game.

Dawes
“That Western Skyline” North Hills

Lots of free time this week (e.g. the existence of this blog), so I’ve done some music searching and found some pretty amazing stuff.

My Neil Young binge this week led me to this up and coming band from north California called Dawes. Folk-rocky goodness, really drawing from the likes of Dylan and The Band (all coming from a former punk group?) …listen and follow them on twitter @dawestheband

I’m trapped, once again.

A domain name with no website, a twitter feed that wasn’t updated in months, and a forgotten blog with no author.

Well, I’m back.

(specific lists for audio tweeps and friends? I’m hooked.)

(where you are now. I’ve always loved tumblogs for their simplicity in design and functionality)

I might even get that flickr profile going again.

See you soon…
