In B flat

// January 7th, 2010 // No Comments » // Music, Offbeat, Sound

I’ve got to get back to some football watchin, but my friend Mark posted this link and I had to share.

It’s a collaborative music project with different musicians, each playing their own instrument in the same key. Most productive use I’ve seen of YouTube in a while (although that probably doesn’t mean much).

“Makeshift”

// December 16th, 2009 // No Comments » // Film/TV, Life, Sound

“Makeshift”, SCAD’s entry this year for the Coca-Cola Refreshing Filmmaker’s Award, wrapped shooting last night. I think we’ve got a winner.

It being a 50 second commercial with no dialogue meant that my job as production sound mixer was pretty relaxed. We went way overboard on equipment, but it’s always fun to try out all the sound toys – this is the first shoot where I’ve had talkback with my boom op, and that’ll be essential from now on.

It moves into post now (I’m hoping to work a little on the sound editing side of things in a few weeks) and we’ll find out the winner in a few months.
